Consultation

Study #1

STUDY #1 Consultation

The consultation program will be ongoing during the Study #1 Preliminary Design and Class EA process and will include meetings, as required, with municipal staff and Council, emergency service providers, regulatory agencies, transit operators, Indigenous communities and directly impacted members of the public.

Notification at key milestones will be issued to those on the Project Contact List and published in the Community Press (Belleville & Region), Belleville Intelligencer, and Napanee Beaver newspapers.

Two Public Information Centres (PIC) are planned for Study #1 to provide interested individuals with the opportunity to learn more about the study process and to provide feedback directly to the Project Team.

Public Information Centre #1

The purpose of the first PIC will be to introduce the study, present the challenges and opportunities, the alternatives under consideration, and to generally gather feedback to inform the study process.  PIC #1 will provide a summary of existing conditions, present the Long List of alternatives and the associated screening that leads to the Preliminary Short List of alternatives.

Public Information Centre #2

The purpose of the second PIC will be to present design and study updates since PIC #1 including the Short List of interchange alternatives and the evaluation leading to identification of the preliminary Recommended Plan.

The Ministry will host each Public Information Centre at a single easily accessible venue within the study area, with materials also uploaded to the project website for remote review and comment.  Advance notification will be provided. Information presented at each PIC for Study #1 will be available for review on this page of the website.

The final notification for this undertaking will be the Notice of Study Completion to advise of the completion of the Preliminary Design and Class EA process and the availability of the Study #1 Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) for the 30-day public comment period.
